Hi Cheryl. I’m amazed that despite the mountain of problems I faced
with customs and the traffic department, you managed to successfully
re-register my vehicle in South Africa.

For your readers, I left SA in 2019 to travel through South America on
my KTM 1090 Adventure R. After seeing most of the continent, riding
down to Ushuaia and all the way up to Ecuador, after Covid, dodgy
border crossings, and the most amazing roads and sights I could
imagine, I returned to South Africa in September 2023 …

At which point I discovered someone processed my bike as a permanent
export, even though it clearly was not, and I had proof stating as
much. None of the government employees were of any help, and the
situation seemed hopeless. I contacted Cheryl, having nowhere else to
turn, and through sheer tenacity, she fought every step of the way
until my bike was legally registered once again. I have no idea how
she did it, but I’m thrilled to have found her.

To anyone else needing assistance with vehicle registrations, I cannot
